      Dear Friend,

           I am running for re-election as your State Senator  in the 38th District and I need your support and vote on November 7.

           Since 1999, I have been your representative in Albany and together we have made a difference. I have listened to your needs and have been able to pass legislation in several areas to improve the quality of life in Rockland and Orange counties. To name a few, we have expanded the EPIC benefits for our seniors, and have passed several significat anti-crime bills to deal with sexual predators, child killers and other crimes that destroy families. We have also created a statewide DNA database to help solve violent crimes and have removed the statute of limitations on rape cases. Though much has been accomplished, I recognize that there is much more that needs to get done.

           I pledge to cotinue to fight to protect you from identity theft, improve education, preserve the environment and expand access to quality affordable healthcare. Currently I am conducting forums with school administrators, teachers and parents to seek alternative soures of funding for our schools. It is critical that we create ways to relieve the tax burden on our property owners.

           I will continue to seek your input to pass meaningful legislation that will improve the quality of life for our families and assist our Towns and Villages to reduce local taxes.
